VIDEO: Birthday cake causes car to go on fire in Cork

A car in Cork went up in flames this weekend after an accidental birthday celebration incident caused it to catch on fire. At around 6pm on Sunday, a woman arrived in her car with a birthday cake for her sister’s 40th birthday according to reports from the Irish Times. The woman parked her car outside the housing estate in the Muskerry Estate in Ballincollig, and had left the birthday cake in her car as a surprise for her sister. She had also lit some of the candles on the cake. After knocking on her sister’s door, the woman turned around to find that her car had caught on flames. A video of the incident captured loud bangs as the fire began to spread to the front of the house. Cork County Council Fire Service arrived on the scene and brought the fire under control. The fire caused a small amount of damage.
