'They had to be twice as good as the men,' says Irish female paramedic on women who trailblazed career

Women were not historically considered the best fit for the role of paramedic in Ireland. This is not the case today with many female paramedics across the country. We spoke to Caitriona Edgar about her role as paramedic with Loughlinstown Ambulance Base and why she would like to celebrate the women who have done the job before her. These women ensured maternity rights and female locker rooms, as well as helping to change culture and attitudes.
