Taoiseach confirms rules: Ireland to return to Level 5 on Christmas Eve

Taoiseach Micheál Martin has confirmed a return to stricter coronavirus restrictions restrictions for Ireland over the Christmas period. Cases have surged in the last week and worry has grown that the mutant strain of Covid-19 seen in England, is already on our shores. This afternoon, the Taoiseach confirmed we will return to Level 5 restrictions from Christmas Eve. Restaurants and gastropubs are asked to stop serving at 3pm on Christmas Eve.
