RNLI rescues stranded cat from East Anglian river

RNLI volunteers from Great Yarmouth and Gorleston had an unusual call and launched to rescue a cat stranded on a river bank. The lifeboat crew pulled the struggling cat out of the water on to the Iifeboat and wrapped it into a blanket. It was then handed over to Gorleston Coastguard and taken to an RSPCA shelter where the cat can be looked after and checked. Once on dry land he was given some salmon from the fish shop, which he enjoyed. The lifeboat crew has since learned that the cat is called Icicle and he was collected by his owners soon after he had been taken to the vet. He is now back home safe and sound.
