Kilkenny dog breeder speaks of heartache as she relives theft of her six pups

Marie Butler of Castlemerle Kennels and Cattery in Co Kilkenny, has been left “broken” and cried out after the six pups were snatched after she had returned to her kitchen on Tuesday night, having given them their last feed.

When she heard the animals squealing, Marie, who has been working with dogs for over 50 years, told how she “went back out and saw the two gates to the puppy house were open.

"I can only imagine when I heard what I would call hurt squeals that they were being stuffed into some sort of bag," Marie recalled.
