Johnson: Putin’s decision to recognise separatist Ukraine states ‘ill omen’

Boris Johnson condemned Vladimir Putin’s decision to recognise the breakaway Ukrainian republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. At a Downing Street press conference he said: “This is plainly in breach of international law, it’s a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine. He said the UK will be discussing with allies the potential implementation of sanctions against Russia, and that they would be “triggered the first toecap of a Russian incursion or a Russian invasion.”
