Ireland is now battling worst Covid rate in the world

Ireland now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in the world, with 10,100 confirmed cases per million people being recorded in the last seven days. Ireland's hospitals are now 'beyond strain' as a result of the surge in Covid-19 cases and subsequent hospitalisations, the head of Ireland's health service provider said today.
