Husband fears for wife and family as Afghanistan descends into chaos

A man from Afghanistan has said he is “very scared” for his wife who is trying to leave the country after the Taliban’s takeover. The militant group moved into Kabul on Sunday after President Ashraf Ghani fled the country, ending two decades of the UK and its allies trying to transform it. Mohammad Yusuf Mahmoud, 46, who has lived in the UK for 29 years, said he has concerns the Taliban may have not reformed.
