Geronimo the alpaca destroyed after police seizure at Gloucestershire farm

Geronimo the alpaca has been killed after a court-ordered destruction warrant was carried out, the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said. The animal had twice tested positive for bovine tuberculosis. Avon and Somerset Police officers seized the animal from a farm in Gloucestershire this morning. Owner Helen Macdonald believed the TB test results were false positives. Protesters attempted to block police officers as they entered the farm to execute a court warrant for Geronimo's removal. At least one person was arrested for assault after discharging a water pistol at police officers.
