Footballer goes viral for taking phone call while playing match
Denis Brennan was playing for Laois Masters when he had to take a phone call for work.
A video of a committed worker and footballer taking a phone call during a match has gone viral.
Denis Brennan was playing for Laois Gaelic Masters, a team made up of former Laois players, when he had to take a phone call for work.
"The call was from a customer in England who’s machine had broken down. I was on call and had to answer him." Denis told Independent.ie.
"We only had 15 players so I couldn’t come off."
The video shows the player keeping pressure on the opposing team, while still continuing the phone call.
Denis, who was on the U21 Laois panel that won the Leinster Championship in 1994, said the customer was too focused on his issue to question what was going on at the other end of the line."
"He didn’t what was going on; just kept talking about the machine...
"I could have been getting chased by a mountain lion and he wouldn't have cared," Denis joked.
