Ardern extends New Zealand lockdown

New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern extends a national lockdown for a further four days as the nation's coronavirus outbreak continues to grow. The Level 4 lockdown will remain in place until 11.59pm on August 31. For Auckland, where case numbers are highest, and the neighbouring Northland region, Level 4 restrictions are likely to continue for another two weeks.
