Age of cervical cancer screening in Ireland must be lowered, says campaigner

Aláine Lee (23) has started a petition to lobby the Irish government for a change in legislation, as currently only women over 25 years of age can be screened for cervical cancer.

Women under 25 in Ireland are not included in current screening demographics for cervical cancer. This means that all women under 25, regardless of whether or not they are experiencing symptoms associated with cervical cancer, must take personal responsibility for seeking a cervical cancer screening test.
