'A very significant lockdown of society and the economy' Micheal Martin announces country's move to level 5

Micheal Martin speaks at a press conference after announcing the country's move to level 5 restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19. Ireland will be placed in a second lockdown for six weeks in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19. The Government has agreed to impose the highest level of restrictions under its five-tiered plan for living with Covid-19 from midnight on Wednesday for six weeks. In doing so, the country will adopt one of the strictest lockdowns in Europe. Micheal Martin described the move to level 5 restrictions as “very, very serious”.
