17-year-old child killer's life sentence broadcast in legal first

A 17-year-old boy has been given a life sentence with a minimum term of 19 years for stabbing a 14-year-old boy to death in Croydon in 2021. Jermaine Cools was fatally stabbed with a machete in Croydon, south London, on November 18 2021. The unarmed child was the youngest fatality involving knife crime in the capital that year.
