Jourdan Dunn picked her own models for MISSGUIDED collaboration

Jourdan Dunn took charge of casting models for her MISSGUIDED collaboration, so she could create her own "girl squad".

The British model has teamed up with the online retailer on a clothing line titled LONDUNN + MISSGUIDED, which she has been busy launching over the past week. Full of athleisure wear such as a metallic silver crop top and a long sleeved black bodysuit, Jourdan hopes the pieces boost customers’ egos, while also being practical.

“I want women to feel confident, effortless, determined... Just feeling good even if they are doing something simple like food shopping or going to pick their child up from school, attending a work appointment or meeting friends for drinks or dinner,” she explained to W magazine. “This was a key reason I wanted to lead my own casting for our MISSGUIDED collaboration. I really wanted to create my own girl squad of girls who look great but also have an opinion and who aren’t afraid to be heard.”

She also wants her collaboration to appeal to all types of women, as she tried hard to make the garments suitable for both day and nighttime wear.

The 26-year-old enjoyed following her own instincts while designing and relished coming up with ideas herself, rather than putting her name to someone else’s creations.

On her own style icons, Jourdan gushed: “I really love trend setters like Rihanna, who are fearless and are risk takers, and also Victoria Beckham, who is seriously chic. I even get inspiration from women on the street; I love people watching and seeing the trends come to life."

Away from the catwalk and high-end campaigns, the fashion star, who has modelled for the likes of DKNY, Neiman Marcus and Balmain, keeps her outfits relaxed - especially when spending time with her seven-year-old son Riley. This love of relaxed attire played into her MISSGUIDED line, with the satin joggers and a fleece high-waisted skirt among her favourite items.
