Tried and tested: Pretty purples

As the perfect shade to add a feminine touch, purple shouldn’t be neglected in the world of beauty. Here we’ve given the lowdown on some of our favourite purple products to prove why you should reach out for one of your own.

Sleek’s I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette in Oh So Special, top right shade – 4/5

This palette can definitely create fancy eye make-up and the shadow on the top right is a beautiful plum colour which makes my eyes pop. For an affordable product it’s great quality and can applied either with a light coverage or a deeper effect. As expected it was a little bit messy to apply, but once I’d wiped away the excess powder everything stayed in place nicely. I’ll definitely be using this colour next time I want a dramatic beauty look!

Benecos Maverick Nail Polish in Maverick - 3.5/5

If you're not afraid of a little bold colour, this vivid purple nail polish is worth a whirl. The bright hue is an electric violet which really makes a statement and looks great with monochromatic outfits. Benecos' formula is vegan and free from toxic chemicals, and is also easy to apply with the accompanying rounded brush. The polish stayed put for four days without chipping, and didn't require a top coat, as the finish is already very shiny.

Avon Mark. Gel Shine Nail Enamel in Lavender Sky - 4/5

This Avon nail polish was a pleasant surprise! The lilac colour with a hint of grey is actually very flattering and features a high gloss look with a near gel-like shine. Looks great on short nails, and with a top coat, lasted five days without a scratch.
