When you have waited 55 years to celebrate a place in a major tournament final, the joy of finally making it is all the more special.

That was the story across England on Wednesday night, as Harry Kane's extra-time winner sent his nation into the Euro 2020 final against Italy on Sunday.

The wild scenes of celebration inside Wembley Stadium were in evidence across the country, as fans gathered in fans parks to cheer on Gareth Southgate's side.

One video that has gone viral on social media saw Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount hand his England shirt to a young girl in the stands at Wembley:

There were also scenes of celebration among Muslim students as they watched Kane first miss his penalty and then convert from close range with the rebound:

Boxpark in London has become a venue for England fans to gather for big matches in recent years and those present went wild as Kane hit England's winner:

With the 'Football's Coming Home' anthem echoing around England, the scenes of celebration are likely to reach fever pitch if they beat Italy in Sunday's final.
