Sunday World columnist John Aldridge has declared his undying love for Ireland in a comical new advert from Paddy Power.

The Irish bookmaker launched their #SaveOurGame campaign on Sunday, as they promised to give €10k to Irish grassroots football every time England score at this summer's Euro 2020 finals.

Getting behind England is not a natural pastime for Irish soccer lovers, but with €100k guaranteed for Irish grassroots football and more on top of that if Gareth Southgate's men bang in a barrel load of goals this summer.

Now Aldridge has been joined by his fellow English-born Irish internationals Tony Cascarino and Jason McAteer as they poked fun at their own roots in an advert that will strike a chord with football fans on both sides of the Irish sea.

We might have to ask Aldo about this advert in his next Sunday World column this weekend.
