Roy Keane unleashed one of his his most scathing verbal attacks on Manchester United's flops yet after they were hammered 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield.
The gulf in class between United and their big rivals was embarrassing from first to last, with United's big-name players horribly exposed by Liverpool's title chasing side.
It was a performance that left former United captain Keane seething and he didn't hold back in his brutal assessment of their performance.
"There's no surprise at the result. Over the two games this season it's 9-0 to Liverpool. United are so far off it - the opposite of what you want in a top team," Keane told Sky Sports.
"You do look back at the history and think United might turn up, the badge, the quality they might have, but it's not there, so the result nor the scoreline is a surprise.
"There is no leadership, no characters, no fight, no determination. It's a long way back for this club. Whatever we had when I played - that bit of pride - has gone.
"You look at the team today... I didn't think there was any heart there, no soul, no leaders, they lack real quality.
"There's disarray at the club from the top, the board, fans have no time for the owners. They need a new manager, they need players in, they need players out.

"It's so sad to see United it's not the club I played for it doesn't reflect the United I played for it's chalk and cheese. They don't play with pride. It's so sad watching this team it really is. A long night."
Keane went on to pick out Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Paul Pogba for especially harsh criticism, as he suggested too many United players are not good enough to play for the club and too many want to leave.
"Marcus Rashford played like a child up front," stated Keane. "Harry Maguire - the last goal - his passing and defending was unacceptable, not good enough for Manchester United.
"Defensively, we were trying to help Maguire before the game, but that last goal, his passing and defending was not acceptable.
"Nemanja Matic has said he is leaving this summer. Paul Pogba is going as well and yet you are expecting these lads to turn in a performance against Liverpool at Anfield? No chance.
"It's not good enough for Man United so we again have to talk about a rebuilding job. We have to hope they get good lads, decent quality pros, talented and try to compete. Man United fifth or sixth in the league? Unbelievable.'
"So we have to use that word again - rebuild. United are sixth in the league, it's unbelievable, but they are a mile away from a team like Liverpool.
"What the club have always had in my experience was brilliant characters, people who would give everything they had for the club. But this team has no soul. Even in their words afterwards, it's very robotic and there's no emotion."
Keane's former United team-mate Gary Neville echoed those sentiments with his post-match comments.
"The demise today and all season has been alarming," he said. "I've been watching Manchester United for 42 years, this is as bad as it gets in my time watching the club. This United team are a waste of space.
"It was a sobering evening, but we expected it. No Manchester United fan expected to get anything out of it. This team has nothing.
"I can't explain how it's gone from slightly promising at the end of last season to where it is now. This is an all-time low.
"I've never seen a Manchester United wilt like that in all my 42 years watching the club against Liverpool."
