It feels a little like Groundhog Day as for a second summer in succession, Manchester United are locked in a battle of wills with Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho.

The latest reports emerging from the Dortmund camp and reported in Bild confirm that United have yet to meet their €90million asking price for Sancho, with their initial offer for the England star rejected last week.

That offer was around €15m short of Dortmund's valuation of their England attacking star, with no fresh offers submitted by United since then.

While both sides suggest they are confident a deal will be struck in this summer's transfer window, there appears to be a stand-off between both parties as Dortmund hold firm on their valuation.

United believed Dortmund would lower their price for Sancho in the final weeks of last summer's transfer window, but they failed to agree to a deal at a lower price.

It remains to be seen whether a deal will be struck this summer, with Dortmund keen to conclude all negotiations before their first team squad gathers for pre-season training on July 23rd.

Meanwhile, United are reported to have made a move to sign Atletico Madrid's England full-back Kieran Trippier.

United have been strongly linked with Trippier throughout this summer and are reported to have offered around £10million to sign the former Spurs defender.

Yet Atletico Madrid are not interested in selling at that price and sundayworld.com have been informed that there is a wide gap between their valuation and the fee United are willing to pay for Trippier.

Trippier is believed to be keen to sign for United, but the Old Trafford club have bigger priorities in this summer's transfer scramble and they look to get the Sancho deal over the line.
