England took their time to find their goal scoring form at Euro 2020, but Irish football is finally reaping the rewards after their 4-0 win against Ukraine sealed their place in the semi-finals.

Bookmaker Paddy Power urged the Irish nation to break the habit of a lifetime and back England at Euro 2020, with the promise that they will donate €10k to needy Irish soccer clubs every time Gareth Southgate's men score.

That plan appeared to be back firing as England only scored two goals in the group stages of Euro 2020, but the campaign has gathered momentum in their 2-0 win against Germany and the four goal rout of Ukraine.

The cash has already started to flow for Irish soccer, with Paul McGrath's former club Sallynoggin Pearse FC receiving at €10k payment after vandalism wrecked their already creaking 'tin shed' changing area.

Sea Rovers FC in Malin Head, Donegal also got a €10k payment, as they look to boost the facilities at the most northerly and scenic soccer pitch in the country.

Their pitch is marooned by the Keenagh River and a makeshift bridge is needed to access it, so the cash will help to make much needed improvements.

Paddy Power have already given away €40k to Irish grassroots soccer this summer and after two goals from Harry Kane and strikes from Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson added to another €40k to the cash pot, more clubs in Ireland are set to benefit from England's summer of success.
