Manchester United's long-running pursuit of Jadon Sancho is edging towards a successful conclusion, with the terms of the transfer now revealed.

Reports suggesting United have already agreed a deal to sign England star Sancho are wide of the mark, with sources in Germany confirming the structure of the deal has yet to be finalised.

Yet there is a growing belief that both sides are keen to find a resolution in the coming days that will avoid a repeat of the transfer saga that was played out over Sancho last summer.

United refused to pay Dortmund's €120million asking price a year ago, with Old Trafford chiefs convinced the Bundesliga club would lower their asking price before the transfer deadline.

That bargaining position failed to pay off, with Sancho staying at Dortmund for another season with an agreement in place that he will be allowed to leave this summer if the price is right.

Now it has emerged the new asking price being demanded by Dortmund is €90million, but United are unwilling to pay that fee in full.

Instead, they are keen to build a structured deal that would see a deal agreed that would allow Dortmund to claim they have got what they wanted, with the player needing to enjoy success at Old Trafford for the full fee to be paid.

Sources in Germany have suggested Sancho is keen to have his future resolved before the Euro 2020 finals that get underway next week, but there is no pressing demand for either side to agree a deal by then.

Yet it seems United and Dortmund are closer than ever to agreeing a deal for Sancho, with Old Trafford chiefs keen to make a statement signing in a bid to get fans back onside after their involvement in the ill-fated European Super League project.

Sancho has made it clear to his advisers that he only wants to join United this summer and now it is a matter of time before the fine details of what will be one of the biggest transfers of the summer are agreed.
