EDDIE Nketiah snatched an 85th-minute goal for Arsenal as they sealed a fortunate win last night, with West Ham left to rue a succession of near-misses at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal made it two wins from two matches at the start of this Premier League season as Nketiah just about stayed onside to fire home his winning goal, adding to Alexandre Lacazette's 25th-minute opener.

Yet West Ham manager David Moyes left Emirates Stadium wondering how his side had been beaten again, on a night when they could easily have secured a famous away day success.

Michail Antonio drew West Ham level on the stroke of half-time, with the deserved equaliser backed up by an impressive second-half display by the visitors.

Led by a powerhouse midfield performance by Declan Rice, West Ham rattled the Arsenal crossbar as Antonio's effort was inches away from giving his side a lead.

Arsenal's defence was stretched as West Ham pushed for the decisive third goal of the game, but it was the home side that found a way to get the win on a night when they were not at their best.

A VAR check confirmed that Nketiah was behind the ball when he received a pass in the box from Dani Ceballos and finished off the chance in style.

Arsenal will need to play better than this to sustain their unbeaten start, but they continue to build under boss Mikel Arteta.
