Seamus Coleman is set to have a scan on today after limping out of Everton's game against Brighton with a hamstring injury yesterday.

The Republic of Ireland captain was in sparkling form as he impressed in the first half of a game that was eventually won by 4-2 by a rampant Everton side that won their first four league games for the first time since the 1969-70 season, when they finished as champions.

Yet the sight of Coleman heading straight down the tunnel after he was replaced by Fabian Delph after 58 minutes at Goodison Park was a blow to Ireland boss Stephen Kenny ahead of next Thursday's Euro 2020 qualifier against Slovakia.

However, there was some hope that he may yet be fit to meet up with the Ireland squad after Carlo Ancelotti described Coleman's problem as 'a small injury' after the game.
