Boxer Billy Joe Saunders has named Daniel Kinahan as the fight fixer for ALL his world title fights.

The motor-mouth boxer who will fight Mexican Canelo Alverez in a €50million clash on May 8, says that Kinahan has ‘done the deal’ for every fight he’s had.

In an interview on The Pug and Copp podcast hosted by Mike Coppinger and Lance Pugmire, outspoken Saunders, who regularly speaks about Kinahan, says the mob boss is his close personal friend and advisor.

“Daniel Kinahan (right) is a very personal good friend of mine. He has done every single world title fight for me. He’s done the deal. Even the Eubank fight, when he wasn’t advising me, he still helped me in every single way. I can do nothing but thank him for doing so.”

Saunders who has been involved in a string of controversies repeated his mantra about Kinahan having no convictions and being a ‘very clever businessman’ when asked about him.

“If someone takes a s**t on a Dublin Street in Ireland it’s Daniel Kinahan. The man has done so much for me and I owe him a lot… I trust him 100 per cent… I trust him so much I would pull my heart out of my body and give it to him to mind.

“He is a good man and he looks after a lot of people. He looks after cancer patients and people who have no where to live. He feeds people. People should welcome him in to the game. With him in the game fighters would be a lot better off. I’m ever so grateful.”

The continued controversy surrounding Kinahan’s links to professional boxing hit the headlines again this week after a hard hitting Panorama show on BBC detailed his deep relationship with MTK and Tyson Fury.

Fury is best friends with Saunders and the two gypsy boxers signed up to MTK around 2016 after the Regency Hotel attack. It was later announced that Kinahan had sold up the promotions firm to business woman Sandra Vaughan and had nothing else to do with it.

Last year Fury called him out on a social media selfie which went viral describing him as the fixer for his clash with Anthony Joshua which remains under negotiation.

Vaughan has said that Kinahan operates as an independent advisor and introduced Fury to MTK, but did so for free and because he wanted the company to strive. On the podcast Saunders states that his relationship with Kinahan is more than an advisor and clearly states he has done deals for him.

“There is a lot of bad stigma around him. There is a 20-year investigation that he has murdered 20 people but if he did why isn’t he in prison? If anything happens in his home then he gets the blame.”
