The famous horror writer Stephen King has told his fans on Twitter that they have “missed a great series” if they haven’t seen Line of Duty.

The legendary author also used one of the catchphrases of Adrian Dunbar’s Ted Hastings character as he tweeted: “NOW WE'RE SUCKING DIESEL! If you don't get it, you missed a great series.”

King revealed himself to be a fan of the series as well as Hastings as he quoted another iconic phrase from the series, “Jesus, Mary and Joseph and the wee donkey."

Lead character Ted Hastings is played by Adrian Dunbar who recently revealed that he wanted to introduce the catchphrase in tribute to his late father.

He explained: "He would say, 'Mother of God' all the time. He used to just say 'Mother' and we knew what he meant."

Enniskillen acter Dunbar, who stars alongside Scottish actor Martin Compston and English actor Vicky McClure, turned many familiar Fermanagh phrases into what have become known as ‘Tedisms’ on the hit BBC show.

Compston and McClure both expressed their delight at the praise from King with Martin labelling it “superb” in a tweet and Vicky posting celebratory emojis in response.
