Meath man Sean Cox, who was left in a coma and with serious brain injuries after an unprovoked attack, has been feeling the love after his Late Late Show appearance last night.

Viewers were thrilled to see that the father of three has made great progress since he was brutally attacked outside a Liverpool game in 2018.

His wife Martina told Ryan Tubridy about their journey since the attack and revealed some positive developments in his rehabilitation.

One viewer tweeted: "It's great to see how well Sean Cox has done. It's something that should never have happened but we'll done Martina, Jack Emma, Shauna. It's brilliant to see Sean at home."

Another said: "Great to see Sean Cox on #TheLateLateShow tonight, his wife Martina is an absolute lady and warrior."

Someone else commented: "Such a great sight to see Sean Cox laughing with his family."

Sean has also made his first appearance at Anfield since the incident when he had travelled with his brother, Martin, to Merseyside for the 2018 Champions League semi-final against Roma where he was attacked.

He has since undergone extensive rehabilitation and requires ongoing care from his wife and family in Dunboyne, Co Meath.

He has also met with boss Jurgen Klopp with the German declaring: “I saw Sean after the game - Great! It was very, very nice. It was very nice.

“He was very happy to see me and I thought I am much more happy to see him.

“It was special, it was nice. His wife and son were there as well, it was a wonderful day for them as well. It's what we wanted.

“I can say already that if he moves to Liverpool then he gets a season ticket, 100 per cent!

“It was for all the boys really important news when we heard he was able to come to the stadium and watch a football game.”
