Ryan Tubridy enjoyed a lovely day out in Dublin with his mother Catherine yesterday.

The pair took in the sights of Dublin city in the sunshine with a trip to the National Gallery and Merrion Square.

They also enjoyed some tasty coffee outside in the glorious weather at Le Beret.

Speaking on his RTÉ Radio 1 show this morning, Tubs told listeners: “Yesterday [Tuesday], I went into town and had a lovely day, myself and my mother.

“We went to the National Gallery and we had coffee outside. It was the 14th of July, there's a little coffee truck there called Le Béret.

“It was lovely and cool inside the gallery which is looking as gorgeous as ever.

Ryan continued: “If you want to enjoy the riches of our nation for free, go to the National Gallery.

“You have the beautiful Merrion Square across the road and on a beautiful day, it's gorgeous.”

The Late Late Show host revealed that he and Catherine crossed paths with Labour TD Ivana Bacik, who emerged victorious in the Dublin Bay South by-election last Friday.

“We bumped into freshly minted deputy TD Ivana Bacik on the road,” he said.

“We congratulated her and her colleagues, she was most personable and we wish her well in her endeavours.”
