Only Fools and Horses actor David Jason has said that he would love to play the role of his iconic character Del Boy again.

In an interview with The Sun, the 81-year-old said that fancies another go as Derek Trotter.

“I’ve always loved Del Boy, who is such a wonderful loser,” he said.

“I would love to revisit him, I need someone to write me a script.”

Only Fools and Horses aired on BBC One for a decade from 1981 to 1991. There were also sixteen specials which aired until 2003.

“As a show it’s very important we don’t forget about it, it has a huge following, it fills in that need for an awful lot of people.”

“It’s funny, amusing and an identity for most people who watch it, who are working class and come from where I come from, and identify with the idiots who are the Trotters.”

“They’re just like the rest of us, a family who have ups and downs.”

The show followed Derek Trotter, his much younger brother Rodney and their elderly grandad.

Living in a high tower council flat in Peckham, the trio try their hand at becoming millionaires through many get-rich-quick schemes, dodgy dealings and black market trading.
