Reeling in the Years will be returning to our screens next month, RTÉ have confirmed.

The newest series of the hit show will air on Sunday 11 April at 8.30pm on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player.

This will be the sixth series of the nostalgia-filled show, with each half-hour episode focusing on a specific year from 2010 to 2019.

The broadcaster revealed that we can expect topics that engulfed Irish culture over the last decade such as Katie Taylor, Kodaline, Mrs Brown’s Boys, the 2015 marriage referendum, and trends like Fidget Spinners.

Reeling in the Years is one of RTÉ’s most popular loved shows, finding success with its previous five seasons that looked back on the years from 1962 to 2009.

Fans of the programme have been eagerly awaiting new episodes since the latest installation in 2010.

“The end of a decade is a natural time to look back,” added Producer John O’Regan.

“We made the Nineties series in 2000, the Noughties series in 2010, and now we’re adding another 10 years to the collection.

“We’re pleased to offer viewers this latest selection of music and moments from RTÉ’s archives, starting Sunday 11 April on RTÉ One.”
