Fair City viewers will watch as domestic abuser Will continues his lies over the next week and manages to get another Carrigstown resident on his side.

It comes after viewers were left shocked in recent weeks when violent Will was controversially acquitted of assaulting his partner, Christiano after an emotionally charged court case.

Since then, things have been slowly unravelling for Will after his daughter Phoebe finally saw his true colours and turned against him.

However, this weekend he manages to get his claws into Hughie by deceiving him about his alcoholism.

As the fall out from the trial continues, Hughie advises Will to give Phoebe time.

Will’s ex Mairead refuses when Will begs her for help with the house and Dolores and Phoebe put the events leading up to the trial behind them.

Hughie sees the depth of Will’s pain after drunkenly lashing out at Phoebe, and is determined to help him.

A devious Will sees this as a chance to manipulate Hughie into lending him money for his house repairs. He makes several attempts at AA meetings to win Hughie round.

After Damien warns Hughie about his deviousness, Hughie withdraws his offer to help Will with his asbestos problem and offers him a job as a janitor.

There was a massive social media reaction to the verdict in Will and Cristiano's courtroom drama that followed a lengthy story line which covered the very difficult topic of domestic violence.

Will had managed to manipulate Phoebe who completely blindsided by her love for her father into believing Cristiano was the one doing harm in their relationship, and that he was actually the victim.

His lies drove a wedge between Phoebe and her mother Mairead, who had supported Cristiano. However, in last week’s episode Phoebe overheard overheard Will admit to assaulting Cristiano.

Speaking to the Sunday World following the airing of the shock verdict, actor Rodrigo Ternevoy who plays the victim said:

“It was devastating to Cristiano and to everyone who likes him, but unfortunately it does represent what is all too often the reality out there.”
