Maura Higgins is hotly tipped to appear on I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! this winter following her split from Giovanni Pernice.

It emerged yesterday that the Love Island star and her dancer boyfriend had called it quits in recent weeks after four months of dating.

Now, Maura could be returning to her reality show roots and entering the I’m A Celeb Gwrych castle as punters are backing her to take on the Welsh countryside this year.

The odds from bookies are coming in at just 5/2 for the 30-year-old to head to Wales next month, having been cut down from 7/2 with Labrokes and BoyleSports earlier this week.

Maura has also been tipped to appear on RTÉ’s Dancing With the Stars when it returns next year.

BoyleSports spokesperson Sarah Kinsella said: “Punters are continuing to get behind the idea of Irish star Maura Higgins taking part in the next series of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!

“Her odds have been trimmed into 5/2 from 7/2, but the support doesn’t end there as she is also 6/4 from 5/1 to take part in the next series of Dancing With the Stars, so fans are clearly expecting a return to reality TV in the near future.”

Meanwhile, Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes said: “With her ex Giovanni making all the headlines on Strictly, a stint on I'm A Celebrity would be the perfect opportunity for Maura to create her own.”

Fans are eager for Maura to make waves on the popular ITV show after her shock split from Giovanni.

A source told The Sun that the Irish beauty was “utterly heartbroken” over the breakup, saying: “Maura didn’t see this coming and is finding it very difficult to come to terms with. She genuinely thought Gio was the one.”

Another insider added: “It's all over for now. Maura's absolutely devastated, it appears the Strictly curse has struck again.”
