Love in the sun Love Island lineup revealed ahead of highly anticipated return next Monday

This year’s Love Island cast have just been announced ahead of its return next Monday and the lineup is the most interesting mix yet - from the villa’s first-ever disabled star to a feminist ambassador.

Among those entering the iconic Majorcan villa is 24-year-old PE teacher Hugo Hammond, who is the show’s first Islander to have a physical disability.

The Hampshire native was born with clubfoot and has travelled across the globe playing cricket for England PD (Physical Disability).

He will be joined by civil servant Sharon Gaffka, who is also an ambassador for The Young Women’s Trust and has previously worked on domestic violence and period poverty campaigns.

The 25-year-old said that she was eager to go on Love Island as she is the only remaining singleton in her friend group and sees herself finding a long-term partner in the villa.

She also revealed that she shared the same pageant director as 2019 Islander Molly-Mae Hague.

Also announced in the lineup is Essex man Toby Aromolaran (22), who plays for a football team called Hashtag United.

Lettings manager Faye Winter (26) from Devon said she wanted to go on the show after the restrictions of lockdown.

“In the last year we haven’t been able to experience anything. I’m open to anything,” she explained.

“The opportunity came up, so why wouldn’t I? I’d love to meet somebody, what better way to meet somebody than in the sun – amazing.”

Also entering the villa is Chloe Burrow (25), a financial services marketing executive from Bicester; 26-year-old fashion blogger Kaz Kamwi; Brad McClelland (26), a labourer from Northumberland; and water engineer Jake Cornish (24).

Another contestant is 24-year-old Aaron Francis from London, a luxury events host, who said that his job often included “working at royal weddings.”

He is joined by Nando’s waitress and marketing student Liberty Poole (22) from Birmingham, as well as 22-year-old Fife model Shannon Singh.

The seventh season of Love Island airs on Monday 28th June at 9pm on Virgin Media One, with Laura Whitmore returning as series host.
