Sporting legends Katie Taylor and Sonia O’Sullivan are among the guests for Friday night’s Late Late Show, which will be the final show of the season.

Taylor returns to the Late Late for what will be her first in-depth interview since she first turned professional five years ago.

O’Sullivan, meanwhile, will talk about her memories of winning Olympic silver on a thrilling night in Sydney 21 years ago this year.

The Olympics theme is set to continue with several of Ireland’s hopefuls for this year’s Olympics in Japan talking about their journeys and preparations.

They will include Natalya Coyle (modern pentathlon), Brendan Irvine (flyweight boxer), Nhat Hguyen (badminton), Aoife Cooke (marathon runner), and Rhys McClenaghan (gymnast), as they discuss their journey to the Olympics.

The athletes will be joined by Trica Heberle, Chef de Mission Team Ireland, and Peter Sherrard, CEO of the Olympic Federation of Ireland, to discuss the unprecedented hurdles athletes and nations face to get to the Olympic Games this year.

One of the show’s most popular guests of recent months, Adam King will be back on the show with his family with news of a very special gift. Adam stole the hearts of the nation when he appeared on The Toy Show last Christmas.

Top singer Lucia Evans will front The Late Late Show Soul Band with a live soul music session to close out the season.
