Ireland AM presenter Ger Treacy has welcomed her first child “three weeks early.”
Taking to Twitter, she announced the birth of her daughter Kitty Rose O’Toole, named after her late grandmother.
“So no @VMSportIE on @IrelandAMVMTV for me for a while due to some breaking personal news," she began.

Ger and her husband Bernard O’Toole were not due to welcome their baby until later this month, but had a nice surprise when Kitty arrived early.
“Meet our gorgeous girl Kitty O’Toole. She arrived 3 weeks early, weighing 5 pounds 10 ounces and Daddy @BernardOToole and I are madly in love with our Kitty #KittyRoseOToole,” she wrote adding adorable snaps of herself, her husband and their little bundle of joy.

Virgin Media newscaster Bernard also took to the social media site to share his delight for their new arrival.
“The best Christmas present. We can’t stop smiling. Let’s hope she takes after her mother, who’s been a superstar. I even togged out in the Galway colours for the arrival…” he said.
Announcing her pregnancy news back in July, Ger said that the gender would be a "Christmas surprise".
She told RSVP Live: “We are both absolutely over the moon, we’re so extremely grateful and feel so lucky to be expecting. We’re really on cloud nine and both so excited.”
“We haven’t found out the sex of the baby, we’re going to leave it as a Christmas surprise.”
"There are few surprises in life and as long as the baby is healthy and safe that’s all that matters.”

She also spoke about suffering morning sickness from early on in the pregnancy.
“I was really sick with hyperemesis for the first few months of the pregnancy but thankfully that stage seems to have eased now and I’m feeling great and it will be all worth it.”
The couple met while working at Dublin radio station FM104 before they got engaged in 2014. They tied the knot in Co. Laois in July 2016.
