Ireland AM's Ger Treacy and husband Bernard O'Toole announce pregnancy

The TV star and her Virgin Media reporter husband Bernard O'Toole revealed that they are expecting baby number after as they enjoyed a staycation in Adare Manor.

The couple who got married in front of close friends and family in St Joseph’s Church, Ballyadams, Co. Laois back in July 2016, first met while working together on Dublin radio station FM104.

“We haven’t found out the sex of the baby, we’re going to leave it as a Christmas surprise. There are few surprises in life and as long as the baby is healthy and safe that’s all that matters,” Ger said.

“We are both absolutely over the moon, we’re so extremely grateful and feel so lucky to be expecting. We’re really on cloud nine and both so excited,” Ger told RSVP Live.

Ger joined the Virgin Media breakfast show following the departure of Aidan Cooney.

She revealed how she suffered with morning sickness after discovering she was pregnant.

She said: “I was really sick with hyperemesis for the first few months of the pregnancy but thankfully that stage seems to have eased now and I’m feeling great and it will be all worth it.”

Ger said: “We haven’t found out the sex of the baby, we’re going to leave it as a Christmas surprise.

Ger added: “Our family, friends and work colleagues are so excited about the news.

"We have been overwhelmed and totally blown away by the love, good wishes and support from everyone.

"We are so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing family, friends and work family. We feel so lucky."
