Unmasked 'I feel like I’ve won the world' - Joss Stone wins second series of The Masked Singer
Joss Stone has won the second series of ‘The Masked Singer’.
The Grammy-winning star was unveiled as Sausage on the ITV singing competition’s grand finale on Saturday night
The panel, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan ,Davina McCall and guest judge, Nicola Roberts - who won the first series as Queen Bee last year - were gob smacked when the ‘Super Duper Love’ hit maker was unmasked as they had no idea it was her.
On why she took part, Joss - who was pregnant with her first child, daughter Violet, with boyfriend Cody Da Luz while filming theshow - told host Joel Dommett: “Why not! Life is too serious. We should all dress up as chips and sausage and have a sing-song.”
Joel then revealed that the singer had been doing the whole show while “heavily pregnant”, to which she nodded.
Joss continued: “This has been the funniest, most hilarious job I’ve ever had. I’ve laughed so much.”
When Davina said: “You are the winner!”, she gushed: “I can’t believe it! I feel like I’ve won the world!”
Before Joss, 33, was announced as the winner, the panel were blown away when Badger turned out to be US R&B superstar Ne-Yo.
The ‘So Sick’ hitmaker, 41, said: “I’ve had so much fun with this. It’s a great experience. I’d happily do it again.”
While JLS star Aston Merrygold was revealed to be Robin on his 33rd birthday.
He said: "I love singing! So what better challenge than to be able to do it behind a mask and it be all about the voice.”
The ‘Overboard’ singer said he had even managed to keep it a secret from his JLS bandmates.
Asked if it was hard to keep tight-lipped about being a contestant, he insisted that it’s: "Not as hard as I first thought! It’s actually been quite exciting knowing and my friends and family had no idea.”
And the ‘Beat Again’ hitmaker admitted he found some of the panel's guesses bizarre.
He added: "Some of their guesses were very flattering and some I was very confused at! The panel are a great bunch and they bring great energy."
