Gavin James playfully claims he is going to enter Love Island next year – but admits he needs to work on his abs!

As he prepares to headline Ireland’s biggest open air festival since the beginning of the pandemic, the Dubliner is tickled pink that one of his songs was used on last night’s Love Island.

While Faye Winter and newbie Liam Reardon were having a romantic date Gavin’s track ‘Only ticket home’ could clearly be hard playing as the musical accompaniment.

“Anyone catch ‘Only ticket home’ on Love Island last night?” asked Gavin on Instagram this afternoon.

“I’m gonna to apply next year…just need to turn this keg into a 6 pack.”

This was the second time a track of Gavin’s was used on Love Island this week, as part of ‘All you need’ collaboration with Kaleidoscope was used earlier in the week.

Gavin (29) is not the only Irish artist to feature on the latest series of Love Island as Dermot Kennedy’s ‘Heartless’ was also used midweek.

‘Only ticket home’ is the title track from Gavin’s second album.

The outdoor concert at Dublin’s Kilmainham hospital today will host 3500 tickets and all were snapped up within minutes.

Denise Chailey Lyra, Wild Youth, Sharon Shannon and Wyvern Lingo will also perform full sets in what will be Ireland's first music festival in over 15 months. The show will be hosted by comedy duo The 2 Johnnies.

The last time Gavin James played live in Dublin was at a sold out show the 3 Arena on February 29 last year.
