Anna Daly has joined the RTÉ family in her first television appearance since leaving Ireland AM.

The former Virgin Media presenter announced last month that she would be leaving the station in September and wrapped up her final breakfast show in recent weeks.

She told fans that she had found a fantastic new opportunity at The Communications Clinic.

Fortunately, Anna quickly returned to our screens and appeared as a panellist on RTÉ’s Today Show yesterday, joining hosts Emer O’Neill and Daithi O Sé in the state broadcaster’s Cork studio.

Sharing snaps from the Today Show set on Instagram, the 42-year-old said: “Nothing to see here, just hanging out in @rteone.

“Thanks for having me @rtetoday Super to catch up with @daithiose @blathnaidt @emeroneill14 and all the crew (missed you @mauraderrane)”

Anna’s former Virgin Media colleagues were more than supportive in the comments section, with Muireann O’Connell writing “Brilliant!!” and Lucy Kennedy saying “Looking gorgeous my friend.”

Daithi O Se teased that Anna might make her return to RTÉ sometime soon by writing: “Great to have you Anna... see you soon.”

Others flooded the comments with messages of support and congratulated the television presenter on her Today Show stint.

One fan said: “Well done Anna, great to see you back on the TV.”

Another wrote: “You were great, best of luck with it.”

It comes after Anna shared an emotional Instagram post following her departure from Ireland AM.

The mum-of-three thanked the likes of Sinead Desmond, Mark Cagney, Alan Hughes, Simon Delaney, Laura Woods and Aidan Power in her farewell message.

“From my early days as a rookie reporter, it was always about the people. People make a job, don’t they?!” she penned at the time.

“Mark, Sinead, Aidan & Alan were my first tv family and I got to report from around the globe & meet everyone from heads of State to Kardashians.”
