The steamy period drama became one of Netflix’s biggest shows ever when it was first released on the streaming service last Christmas, and fans have been eagerly awaiting their chance to get their fix from Lady Whistledown in Season 2 ever since.

On Christmas Day, the official Bridgerton social media account confirmed that the beloved series will return on March 25th, posting: “Dear readers, I know my absence has only made your hearts grow fonder; however, you will not have to wait much longer. Bridgerton Season 2 debuts March 25, 2022, only on Netflix.”

A video, which saw cast members reunite and receive a letter from the show’s fictional gossip guru Lady Whistledown that read: “Happy anniversary to our buzzy ton.

“It is customary, for a first anniversary, to gift paper, dear readers. I do hope you find this one informative.

The upcoming season, however, will focus on Daphne’s Viscount brother Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and his attempts to charm newcomer Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).

Back in October, Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan, who plays socialite Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton, said that fans of the show will find the second season even more dramatic than the first.

“The drama has amped up a lot. As I say, we're shooting all those big dramatic scenes for the end. It's exhausting but very satisfying,” she said.
