Singer and Sunday World columnist Nathan Carter has launched an exciting search for talented young singers to join a new band.

The country music star said there were so many great young singers and musicians in Ireland that he wanted to give some of them a chance to try out for this new group.

"We are looking for anyone aged 16-24 who can sing and has a passion for music,” Nathan revealed.

Together with renowned tour manager Liam McKenna, Nathan is urging singers with an interest in folk, trad and pop music to come forward for an audition.

This group of young singers and musicians will form a band that will appeal to a wide audience from young kids and upwards.

You can send your details, along with a short video clip of you performing, just link your YouTube, Instagram, TikTok accounts or just film it on your phone.

Email info@ceolband.com and be aware that entries close on July 30

If you have been selected for an audition you will be contacted in early August.

Nathan recently revealed how he is “buzzing” with the news that he’ll be playing a country music festival here in Ireland this August.

The Moynalty Country Music Festival, in Co. Meath, is all set to take place on Saturday, August 8.

“I know the numbers allowed to attend will be limited, but it promises to be a great evening of entertainment with Mike Denver, Robert Mizzell, Matt Leavy and Paul Leavy also on the bill,” Nathan said.

“After all this time being locked down, we now see the world of entertainment starting to open up. I know from the fans on social media that everyone is really excited about the prospect of seeing bands playing live on stages.

“My last shows playing in front of an audience were back in February 2019 on the Gertrude Byrne Mexican cruise, so that was a long, long time ago. I'm going to have to do some serious rehearsing to memorise all the songs again.”
