Dublin’s New Year's Festival gigs cancelled because of new Covid-19 restrictions

Dublin’s much-anticipated New Year's Festival has been cancelled because of restrictions, organisers have announced.

The two-day event featured Picture This, Hudson Taylor and Gavin James who were all set to play at various venues across the city to celebrate bringing in the New Year.

Hudson Taylor, Róisín O and Fia Moon were to take the stage at a New Year's Eve matinée in Dublin Castle with a street party taking place near Stephen's Green.

While Picture This, Lyra and Ryan Sheridan were planned to play a sold-out countdown concert on New Year’s Eve.

A New Year's Day Afternoon in the Castle with Kila and The Scratch as headliners is also off as is the Gavin James gig.

However, Fáilte Ireland has tweeted that following the Government’s announcement of new public health measures, they, alongside Dublin City Council and their event partners, has taken the decision to cancel

“Ticketholders will be contacted directly over the coming days and will receive a full refund,” they added.
