Kim Kardashian has left fans confused after she shared pictures of her "odd" Halloween costume.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star caused a stir when she posted the selection of images of herself dressed head-to-toe in red nylon last night.

The 40-year-old even donned a red long-length ponytail slicked back, while her face was also completely covered by the fabric.

Posting on Instagram, she captioned the pictures: "Halloween 2020."

Kim said guests had quarantined for two weeks before travelling to a private island to celebrate the occasion.

She wrote: “After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal just for a brief moment in time.”

The tweet, which garnered over 100k likes and 7k replies, was subjected to backlash from social media users who branded the post "insensitive."

Kelly Doran, a doctor and researcher, tweeted: “I turned 40 this year too.

“I spent my birthday weekend in the ER caring for patients with COVID-19 and struggling to find safe places for my patients experiencing homelessness to stay.”

Another reply said: "It’s not a good look to share gleeful news like this while people are struggling and dying."
