Stage Fright Vogue Williams recalls 'embarrassing' time she faked an orgasm in front of her mum
“I was 22 or something and had never had an orgasm in my life by then"
Vogue Williams has said that the “most embarrassing thing” she’s ever done was faking an orgasm on stage in front of her mum.
The 36-year-old wanted to be an actress before she ventured into modelling and TV presenting and landed herself a leading role in play at the Bord Gáis Theatre when she was in her 20s.
Speaking on her podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me with co-host Joanne McNally, she explained how the role required her to perform some very awkward scenes.
“Back in the day when I was trying to be an actor, I went and got a part in a play in the Bord Gáis Theatre, which is a pretty big deal,” she began.
“I got the leading part. In the play I had to have a pretend orgasm at the table like in When Harry Met Sally.”
She laughed: “I was 22 or something and had never had an orgasm in my life by then.”
Vogue said that her mum and stepdad Neil came to see her perform on the play’s opening night, which meant she had to go through the “embarrassing” fake orgasm scene with them in the audience.

But to her surprise, the directors ended up scrapping the scene, meaning the Howth native never had to act out a fake orgasm onstage again.
She continued: “My mum and Neil came to the first opening night and I had to do the fake orgasm.
“And do you know what happened? They pulled it the next night because they didn't think it actually worked in the play.
“So, I did it in front of my parents and then they pulled it.
“It was most embarrassing thing I ever had to do in front of my mum,” she added.
