R.I.P Vogue Williams and Thalia Heffernan lead tributes for celeb hairstylist following his sudden death

Vogue Williams and Angela Scanlon have led tributes for a celebrity hairstylist following his sudden death.

Darren Lacken was the director and co-owner of Crown Street Collective, Temple Bar. An award winning hairstylist, Darren has worked on photo shoots and runways around the world.

The stylist to the stars died suddenly on Wednesday.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, his salon shared the sad news.

“It is with broken hearts we are devastated to say our beloved Darren passed away suddenly yesterday. It is impossible to convey into words how we are feeling right now.”

“He was the heart & soul of our salon, a best friend to each and every one of us and the backbone of our team,” they added.

“Our hearts are with Mark and all of Darren’s family at this tragic time.”

Friends, family, clients and loved ones shared messages beneath the post.

“I’m so sorry to hear this. Such a gorgeous person,” wrote Angela Scanlon.

“I can’t comprehend this. One of the greatest people to ever grace this earth. The world is a far less beautiful place without you, Darren. I’m so sorry and sending love to friends and family,” model Thalia Heffernan added.

Pippa O’Connor said: “I’m so sorry, my sincere condolences to you all.”

Make-up artist to the stars Paula Callan wrote: “I’m absolutely devastated and heartbroken for you all. Darren was one of those people that you looked forward to working with… you always knew it was going to be an amazing day if Darren was there.”

“I still can’t believe this,” she continued.

“Thoughts and prayers to Mark, his family, work team and friends. Darren will be greatly missed.”

“He was such a beautiful, kind person,” DJ Tara Kumar said. “I’m so sorry for your loss.”

Meanwhile, Vogue Williams took to Instagram Stories to pay tribute to Darren, and react to the news.

“Just so sad to hear this… Everyone knew Darren. Such a lovely person,” she began.

“He was only in my house a couple of weeks ago and had us all in stitches. Rest in peace lovely Darren.”

Irish model Sarah Morrissey also paid tribute, saying: “I'm so devastated to hear this. Darren was a shining light of positivity in our Industry. His smile and warmth will be so sadly missed.”

Darren worked as a hairstylist for 12 years before he opened Crow Street Collective with Mark Talbot.

Throughout his career his has won many awards including an Irish All-Star silver medal, a Wella Trend Vision silver medal and an Image Magazine Style Award. As well as this, he is a six-time winner at the Irish Photographic Awards.

Darren has worked with big name models like Alexa Chung, Cara Delevingne, Vogue Williams and Roz Purcell.
