Tommy Tiernan and his wife Yvonne celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary this week.

The happy couple tied the knot back in 2009 at a stunning ceremony in Castle Leslie, Co. Monaghan.

And while Tommy is often in the spotlight as a comedian and actor, he tends to keep his relationship with Yvonne as private as possible.

However, the notoriously private pair gave fans an insight into their life with a sweet post marking their 12-year wedding anniversary.

Folk singer, psychotherapist and music manager Yvonne shared a lovely Instagram photo of the couple standing by the sea in the coastal village of Barna, Co. Galway, where they live.

She captioned the post: “12 Years Mr & Mrs #grateful #weddinganniversary."

Irish singer and actress Maria Doyle Kennedy, who attended Yvonne and Tommy’s wedding, led the well wishes and congratulations in the comments section, writing: “Congratulations to you both, great great memories of the whole shebang."

Another follower said: “Beautiful photo! Happy anniversary and wishing you many more happy years x”

A third added: “What a beautiful pic of you two! Happy anniversary and many many more.”

Tommy and Yvonne have three children together, who are half siblings to Tommy’s other three children from his previous relationship with Jayme Street.

The couple are both involved in the entertainment industry, with Yvonne acting as her husband's manager for a decade before retiring from the role in 2014.

While they try their best to keep their private life to themselves, Tommy has praised his wife for her tolerance to being mentioned in his stand-up comedy routines.

Speaking to Dublin Live, the 52-year-old said: “My wife tells people that I have a real wife and a comedy wife.

“That's how we survive as a couple but the reason people laugh at what I say is because it's recognisable and couples relate to it.”
