Will and Cristiano have it out on this week’s Fair City as the domestic abuse case looms.

The pair learned of their trial date last week with Will Casey accused of beating fan favourite Cristiano.

The trial was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic but has now been picked up again, much to Will’s dismay.

Newlyweds Damien and Mairead have been wary of Will since he returned to town and failed to tell them about his upcoming court date.

But when Damien makes it clear that his loyalties lie with Cristiano, the pair are reminded that they have to put Mairead and Will's daughter Phoebe first despite their own feelings.

On Sunday night, Will gets nasty with his former flame but by Thursday, Cristiano has learned to bite back.

“Do you think people remember? It’s just the bitchings of a bitter little queen,” Will says in an attempt to get under Cristiano’s skin, “I’m a hero.”

But things get more complicated when Phoebe overhears Cristiano and Damien talking about the upcoming trial.

Upset, Phoebe confronts Mairead and Will for not telling her about the trial date.

Will asks Mairead not to take the stand at the trial for Phoebe’s sake, saying “This trial could really tip her over the edge.”

Mairead replies: “What am I supposed to do?”

“Change your story,” Will says firmly.

When Will tells his daughter that Mairead is unwilling to help his case, she moves in with him and causes tension among the residents of Carrigstown.

Meanwhile, Heather’s state of mind is questioned after Ellie’s accident in the Hungry Pig and a wrong move by Renee causes Heather to break down in confusion while her daughter looks on.

“Did I really try and hurt Ellie?” an inconsolable Heather asks, “Maybe I did and I forgot!”

Things get wilder when Bosco finds dead mice in Phelan’s and suspects that Ellie planted them.

However, on Wednesday night it is revealed that it was in fact Heather who planted the rodents, not Ellie.

After some tension, Heather tells Ellie that she will be returning to Brazil alone in a jaw-dropping moment on Thursday evening.

Fair City airs on RTÉ One on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8.30pm.
