Maura took a step back from her Today presenting duties late last year, reducing her working working hours so that she can spend more time with her family.
She told the RTÉ Guide that she has much more free time now to enjoy cycling with Cal: “I cycled so much as a child on the island (Aran, the bike was our mode of transport for getting around. I gave it up for a lot of years and now I'm staring to cycle again and it's great.”
She also shared that she hopes to spend more time with her son on her native Inis Mór this summer.
“My mother lives there still and I stay with her. My sister Barbara lives there too and she's got a son who goes to school there so it's great for Cal - he's only two years older than him - and it's just ideal for us.”
