RTÉ’s Maura Derrane is enjoying the “perfect” weather on holidays in sunny Sardinia.

The Today Show presenter has been taking a break from hosting duties and has returned home to her native Inis Mór with her son Cal for the summer.

Her latest travels, however, have brought her to Alghero on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia for some sunshine.

The 51-year-old has been documenting her trip so far on Instagram and posted a photo from her plane as she flew over the Alps.

“Fabulous views of Mont Blanc on our flight this morning,” she wrote.

Following this, Maura shared a stunning snap which showed her exploring the city before grabbing a bite to eat.

She looked ever-so-stylish in a summery pink and yellow co-ord paired with chunky black flip-flips and some oversized sunglasses.

Captioning the photo, the presenter wrote: “Greetings from #alghero #sardinia Perfect weather. Out for a stroll on the bastion walls before dinner. Bliss. #holiday #italy #sardinia”

Maura’s followers flocked to the comments section to tell her how “fabulous” she looked, with one user writing: “Well for you, beautiful”

Another said: “Hope you all have a wonderful time”

“Oh Maura, just wow!” a third chimed in.

Maura shared the same photo to her Instagram Stories and captioned the sun-soaked snap: “Ciao from #sardinia #italy”

She revealed that Sardinia was a balmy 27C with a video of the gorgeous marina and another photo reading the classic novel Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier on the beach.

Sardinia is one of the broadcaster’s favourite holiday spots and she has visited the island many times over the years.
