Lottie Ryan has told of her mum’s excitement at her impending motherhood - and added her late dad Gerry would have been a “hilarious” grandad.

The 2FM presenter recently revealed she was expecting her first child with husband Fabio Aprile. On Instagram this weekend, she told how mum Morah was delighted at welcoming the family’s first grandchild.

“My mum is shockingly excited,” she said. “She is so much more excited than I was expecting her to be. She’s really really excited which makes me so happy.”

She said her late dad and 2FM star Gerry - who passed away in 2010 - would have also embraced becoming a grandparent.

“He would be screaming it from the rooftops and he would have had this child spoiled rotten. He would have been a hilarious grandad.”

Lottie told how she had experienced sickness early in the pregnancy but was now feeling much better.

“I did feel very sick at the beginning of the pregnancy. The best thing I can say is go to your doctor and talk to them. That’s what I did and he helped me feel so much better.”

She added that one of the things she was most looking forward to was: “Probably having an excuse to rewatch all the old Disney cartoons”.

Though she and Fabio have been busy preparing for the new arrival, they have been just buying what’s needed as they live in an apartment.

“I’m on the nursery buzz at the moment. Truthfully we have not bought that much stuff. We’ve really gone for essentials, just what’s needed.”
